Tally Tumblers company design goals
I was tasked to create concepts for a more refined 20 oz tumbler and koozie version of the 30 oz Tally Tumbler. Aim for a sleek, premium feel through a refined form and design. Simplify and clarify the user interface to enhance usability and enjoyment for golfers.

Understanding Current Product
By observing users interacting with the current 30 oz tally tumbler I noticed a few major challenges to the design. First is the communication of information to the user. There is so much going on, all competing for attention that it gets confusing what ring to rotate at a given time.Another challenge the current design faces is the rings are difficult to rotate with your finger. This is because of the lack of resting spots for a finger to fit into and the extruded numbers. These numbers also tend to rub off as use occurs.
Redesign Goals
Simplify User Interface
Refined form
Integrate ball marker
Quick gesture sketches
Using quick, loose sketches to explore how the scoring rings should differ depending on the form of the tumbler. I also began thinking about how the users will receive the information most effectively.
CAD iterations in fusion 360
CAD iterations allowed to create quick complex forms in order to cycle through many ideas in a short amount of time.
Figuring out ouncemass
Using Fusion 360’s parametric tools I fine-tuned the design, iterating until the internal volume matched exactly 20 fluid ounces while maintaining the desired external form.
Final orthographic drawing
In process for manufacturing
Tally Tumbler is currently taking the lid and ball marker concept of my design and continuing to expand on it in order to implement it into an updated iteration.
